Description
Perfect precision is not required to create this stunning sunflower.

Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or a beginner, you’ll leave this workshop with a beautiful Bargello Sunflower quilt that you can proudly display in your home. https://quiltsbyjen.ca/
What Does the Student Bring to Class? Sunflower
- 5 fabrics ranging from light to dark in the colour of your choice in cottons and batiks with texture for the flower (any colour goes) - .25 metres or FQ of each
- 6 inch piece of fabric for flower centre - something with texture and complementary to the flower fabric
Background, Binding & Batting
- 1 metre of a fabric that will complement the flower - can be textured, solid, mottled, batik, shot cotton, etc
- 24 x 24 inch piece of cotton or low loft batting
Note: if you wish to create a different more involved border from the simple border taught in the pattern then I recommend purchasing .5 metres of each of the flower fabric.
Thread
- Neutral 50 weight cotton for piecing
- Quilting of background: colour that blends in or contrasts with the background fabric
- Stitching around the flower: a colour that either blends in or contrasts - can be rayon, polyester, cotton, solid or variegated - 30 wt thread works well for the appliqué stitching
Other Supplies
- ½ yard of a paper backed fusible web
- Sharp scissors that will cut paper and fabric together for appliqué
- Rotary cutter
- Ruler - 6 x 24
- Cutting Mat - 18 x 24 or larger works best
