You asked for another workshop with Sara so here it is. June 30 & July1 This two-day workshop will present three approaches to printing on fabric will be demonstrated and participants will print their own fabric.
1) Cutting a relief block to be printed by hand.
2) Cutting a second relief block to print with the first one in another colour and in a repeated pattern.
3) Printing household objects or small relief blocks to create texture or constructed images.
What Does the Student Bring to Class?
- light and dark solid coloured or almost solid fabric (any kind of smooth fabric) in fat quarter and smaller sizes - perhaps 1.5 meters in total.
- notebook and pen
- paper scissors
- fabric scissors
- needle and thread
- measuring tool
- masking tape
- a smooth wooden spoon
- a 20 x 20 inch piece of batting
- an old T-shirt to make a printing base.
- bag lunch
- Indoor shoes
Workshop Details
- Friday June 30 - Saturday July 1
- 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
- Open to FFAA Members Only
- Registration fee $35/pp
Maximum registrants = 15 students A kit is included in your registration fee - a set of Speedball fabric inks and 2 relief blocks to carve.
Please note that there are no refunds. If you find you cannot attend, the onus is on your to find your replacement.
