The Embellished Pear

Showcase your beautiful embroidery stitches on a three dimensional, weighted and sculptured woolen pear.

In these classes you will learn various needlework stitches. Basic and beyond. The pear is based on a pattern by Crabapple Hill and has been adapted with several modifications and completely new embroidery elements. Each pear is composed of three sides, each with a different stitch design.

Your finished pear can be used as a pincushion or as a fabulous textile art piece. They make a wonderful special gift.

The classes will run with a two-week period between each class. First class on May 27th and the second class on June 10th. 

Students should bring: 

•   Paper and pencil for notes etc
•   Needle threader (optional)
•   Small fabric scissors
•   White chalk marker
•   Polyfill
•   Stiletto
•  Embroidery threads and seed beads

Kit Includes

•   Pattern by Crabapple Hill
•   Felted wool pieces (backed with presto sheerand marked)
•   Plastic pear template
•   Embroidery, chenille and tapestry needles
•   Gravel for weighted bottom
•   Small bell and/or button
•   Koban thread to finish
•   Twig for stem
•   Wired ribbon for leaf
•   Handouts on various embroidery stitches

Students will be required to pick the felted wool color of their choice prior to Class One. Once students have chosen their colors they can then select their threads colors.
