The 2026 Connections Fibre Art Competition and Exhibition is celebrating fibre artists across Alberta with a juried competition and is recognizing the long standing dedication and support ACUA has provided to Ukrainian artists over the past 40 years. Together we salute ACUA's 40th Anniversary!

Focus on Fibre Art Association & Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts presents
FELTING WORKSHOPS: THE Frog, The Mouse, The Rabbit with KIM HERON, based on the Ukrainian folktale The Mitten
In this class, anyone ages 8 and up can learn how to create an adorable little animal with just wool and a felting needle.
This beginner class is dedicated to understanding needle felting and the different fibres that can be used. You will get to see the various fibres used in needle felting application, learn how fibres differ from one another, and get a chance to try different gauges of felting needles & how they are used in felting applications. We will begin the basic structure of the piece during the first half of the class. The remainder of the class will be spent shaping the features and adding details.
