About the event
Drawing inspiration from the landscape we live among, we will work with blocks of colour, textures and various rug hooking techniques to create vibrant prairie scenes. We will blend shades and values of colour to create the illusion of movement in the fields. We will play with wool to bring life back to the abandoned farm buildings we see dotting the landscape on road trips and bring movement to the prairie sky. Participants will be encouraged to create simple patterns using a photograph or by drawing simple line (crooked lines are encouraged!). Simplicity make way for delight! Suitable for experienced beginner to advanced hooking levels.
What Does the Student Bring to Class?
Instructor will have patterns and plenty of wool and roving for people to purchase. Students can create their own pattern…or purchase from instructor. Students can bring their own supply of wool and roving to the class.
