Description
This workshop is designed to teach a more contemporary approach to the ancient textile art of batik, which originated in Indonesia as far back as the 12th century. The batik process uses hot wax and fabric dye to create stunning images on natural fabric, such as cotton, silk, or linen. During the workshop, instructor, Joanne Smith, will introduce you to a variety of tools and techniques for applying wax and dyes that will help you create your own unique batik “painting.”
