Hidden Messages - Mixed Media Textile Landscapes With Darlene Bayley

The first day of the class will be spent creating your own design, whether it be a landscape, a seascape or a floral design.  By layering printed media, tissue papers, napkins, lace, netting etc, we will create a collage base to work over.  Crumpling, ripping, tearing - you will experience a unique freedom of design that you have not encountered before.  Acrylic (or fabric) paints will also become a part of this unique process.

The second day you will return with your artwork, ready for more details to be added. Further collage details, stenciling (the instructor has plenty for class use), painted details and stitching will be considered. Finishing methods will be discussed - mounting on canvas, stretch bars, framing etc.  The finished products are a little too delicate to consider binding without hard support.
