Description
Come visit a local sheep farm in the prairie fields of Alberta learn about the fleece to wool process on a working farm. Bryncelyn Estate is located within an hour’s drive from the city limits of Edmonton, and we are pleased to bring tours to the farm for their fall shearing.
This delightful farm tour offers an opportunity to see how sheep are shorn and learn more about the initial steps in the process of producing wool products. Owners Jacob and Aime Harris will speak about the different breeds of sheep on the farm, the type of wool that is produced from their fleeces, describe what it means to skirt the wool, and what happens to raw wool after skirting.
