About the event
Description
Each student will make at least one fully completed tuffet in the two-day class. There will be enough time for students to make a second tuffet if they want to.
The second kit is $125 each and will be the responsibility to the student to pay the instructor.
What Does the Student Bring to Class?
Participants will be required to bring a sewing machine, typical swing/quilting supplies and tools including a sutter, ruler/grid that is at least 2-1/2" wide and 17-3/2" long as well as a 10 degree wedge ruler. There are a number of companies that make a 0 degree wedge include Phillips Fibre Art, Fons and Porter, Creative Grade, etc. As long as the wedge is 10 degrees, the manufacture does matter although my preference is the Phillips Fibre Art 10 degree ruler. A medium/large cutting mat is recommended/required. If participates sewing machines include a device for building a 1/2" seam allowance, they should bring that as well but alternative approaches to ensuring a 1/2" seam allowance will be available in class. Fabric. Jelly rolls will work. Yes, jelly rolls work but if you are using your stash, you will need 38 strips of 2-1/2” wide by 18” long. Bring your lunch and indoor shoes.
Is there a Kit Available?
There is a kit available and it is included in your registration fee. The instructor will bring tuffet kits which includes everything except the legs and fabric. Tuffet kits are $125 each (additional kits will be available for sale) The tuffet form is made of high density form (18" in diameter, properly shaped and covered with batting over a 3/4" plywood base.
